What's Hot at Universal - DISASTER! (Soft Opening)

What's Going On?

DISASTER! A Major Motion Picture Ride -- The new attraction that has replaced Earthquake - The Big One is currently undergoing its soft opening. The new attraction is based around DISASTER Studios which is a little production company that specializes in disaster type films and has moved its new headquarters onto Universal property.
The studio is owned by Frank Kincaid (Christopher Walken) and during your visit certain people are chosen to film scenes for a new movie starring The Rock called "Mutha Nature". Once the scenes have been filmed, everyone is apart of the big action sequence scene which takes place on a subway during an Earthquake.
At the end of the final scene you get to watch the trailer for "Mutha Nature" which includes footage shot from your visit!
The attraction opens fully in January 2008!

Facts, Figures, Trivia & More!
• Earthquake - The Big One opened in June 1990 along with the rest of the park.
• The extended outdoor queue which used to house props from 'The Flinstones' is now home to set pieces from 'Disaster Studios' latest films.
* LCD Monitors have been installed on the attraction that shows the trailer of the movie you're in.
* Once the preshow section of the attraction closed, Universal switched the attraction from the Attractions Department to the Entertainment Department which adds another piece to the rumor mentioned above.
