What's Hot at Universal - Simpsons Ride opening Spring 2008

What's Going On?
Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson – stars of TV’s longest running series – will ride along with guests in a new mega-attraction opening at Universal Orlando Resort in Spring 2008.

Guests will be rocketed along with the Simpson family on a hysterical, almost unimaginable adventure. They’ll experience a side of Springfield previously unexplored as they enjoy the new ride’s interpretation of thrill rides, dark rides and “live” shows that make up a new fantasy amusement park dreamed up by the show’s cantankerous Krusty the Clown.
Facts, Figures, Trivia & More!
• The ride is replacing Back To The Future The Ride in both Orlando and Hollywood. The Orlando ride closed on March 30th, 2007 and the Hollywood ride is slated to close sometime this summer.
• The ride is set to open in Spring 2008
• The rumored budget is to be around $30 million.
• The ride is a motion simulator. You sit in a vehicle with 2 rows of 4 seats (8 seats total) and your vehicle rises in front of a giant IMAX theatre and moves in-sync with the film on the screen.
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will the ride open?
A: Spring 2008

Q: When will the Annual Passholders preview be?
A: I would assume early 2008.

Q: Is this similar to Hannah Barbara to Jimmy Neutron?
A: Yes. However, when Hannah Barbara closed, there was a simple refurbishment and a new paint job and the ride re-opened as Jimmy Neutron. An estimated $30 million is being spent on this new ride, so expect to see some new things as well.
